Hi there,
My name is Aïssé and I’m a 38-year-old single mom of two boys (4 and 12). I was born and raised in France, spent a few years in the small country of Andorra and finally settled in my mother’s home country, Germany, where I have been living since 2007.
Ever since I can remember, I wanted to have kids. When my first son was born, I dived into motherhood head first only to realize years later that I had almost completely lost myself. It started with growing feelings of overwhelm and guilt until I progressively understood that I needed to take care of myself too if I wanted to be a good mother to my boys.
When I started to seek answers in self-help books and exchanged about my feelings with other parents, I realized that all of us are struggling with fulfilling our needs to some extent. Also, I had noticed that, very often, parenting resources were more about kids and how to raise them, and the tips we found in self-development literature were not always easy to fit into our schedules as parents. So, even though I have many other interests such as languages (I’m actually a translator), parenting, spirituality, or music, when I was trying to figure out the topic of my blog I thought that it could be helpful to write about self-development aimed specifically at parents.
If you would like to know more about me or share your own journey with me, I’d be delighted to hear from you! Feel free reach out to me via my Contact page.
